Summer Meltdown Sale!

The Summer Meltdown Sale is in effect!

Its the slow season for land sales, there is an SL-wide land glut and I simply have too much land for sale! All of this has caused me to have a personal meltdown and I'm taking buy-in prices across the estate with me!

All properties across the region are or will be marked at 4/m2 for double prim land and 2/m2 for single prim land, including the first weekly tier payment, and resident referrals will pay 20% of the buy in instead of 10%!

This is the lowest cost of admission has ever been to be a part of our wonderful community! Make sure everyone you know that might be interested knows about this sale!

Regions with available properties:

SkyBeam Pastures
Scepterd Isle
Apparition Wood (one 1024, one 2048, one 4096)
SkyBeam Everglades (two 2048 parcels, can support an additional 512 more)
SkyBeam Wood (one 1024)
SkyBeam Trailridge #1
SkyBeam Tradewaters (2048 and 1536 sized parcels)

Cheers!

SkyBeam First Cove!

The last of the new open space regions brought online this week is SkyBeam First Cove. This is a spin off of SkyBeam First Land with 15 residential only 512 double prim parcels. Multiple parcels may be rented and (upon request to me) be joined together to form a single parcel. It has a lot of open water and the first official SkyBeam Estates palm trees.

This region does not qualify for the Summer Meltdown Sale or the resident referral program.

SkyBeam Everglades Tier Board Updated

The tier board for SkyBeam Everglades has been updated to the new system. All residents of this region should be aware that the old board is underground just in case there are any questions about the accuracy of the new setups, time transferred and so on. This means after you pay the new board when alerted, you will continue to get 'come pay me' notices from the OLD board. I apologize for this annoyance, but rest assured that if you've paid you can safely ignore the warnings unless I come to you asking why you haven't paid... in which case there was an SL error of some sort and we'll get it sorted out quickly.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these transitions!

SkyBeam Rose Garden & SkyBeam University

Next up on the list of new additions are SkyBeam Rose Garden and SkyBeam University.

Due to the speed with which I was able to add these regions, look for slow development. The rose garden region will remain all water for the forseeable future until the University is online and the estate office is built, so enjoy the extra water!

Oss and I have been plotting the design and layout of the University and have what I hope are some really great ideas! Anyone who feels they can contribute with some info on how to design a sponsorship and advertising program for the University to help pay for instructor salaries, please feel free to contact me! Look for first classes to realistically be in August or worst case, September.

Welcome, Scepterd Forest!

We've sprouted four new regions this week! The first is Scepterd Forest! This is an extension of Emileigh's holdings and is a roleplay region but is open for visitation by anyone!

Em has landscaped in island formations with lush trees and cool bridges. She's extending the Ferry system in the south to include the new region and will be working with the other neighboring Open Space regions to tie them in, too!

Look for the northern end ferry to be coming on line Real Soon Now (tm)!

Congrats, Em!

I'm home! And a lot is going on!

Ok, I've been home for a week and figured I'd best get some quick update posts out to everyone about the current and ongoing projects for the estate!

We had an excellent trip, spent way too much on everything, including some fun toys for the family (esp me!!! lol) and I even got to meet an SL friend of at least a couple years face to face!

And for those following the real life adventures of moi, we got our insurance settlement on the car and bought a new one this week! So that headache is out of the way and I am back to focusing as much as possible on work (read 'SL').

Hugs all around!

I'm going to Disneyland!!!

Yup, that's right! I'm going to take a real break from Second Life(tm) and go have a great time with my family at Disneyland!

During my time away, I plan on ZERO time in world, tho I will be monitoring im's that manage to forward to email. Please direct the bulk of your inquiries to Nevar Lobo in my absence. Also available for assistance are: Ossified Ogre, Serra Anansi and Erix Oh.

Hopefully nothing major will come up while I'm gone and I have lots of great plans for when I return!

Don't forget that even in my absence, Dakota will be rocking SkyBeam on Friday from 4-6pm! Watch for this week's landmark coming to you via group notice soon!

I'll miss you all!

Educational region name thing ...

We've had some great response to the poll regarding naming our educational region! I want to thank everyone who has participated in the pole, whether you simply voted or you proposed names.

I'm going to stay with the most votes for a single name: SkyBeam University.

I feel this encompasses the overall feel and purpose of the region the best while allowing us to incorporate the SkyBeam Library and other buildings as needed that can be named individually. For example, we could have an area called the College of Advanced Learning and another that is the Skills Center and so on.

Look forward to the University making its appearance in July!

What's in a name? ... Survey time!!!!

We're bringing in a teaching/learning region! Target date: July 2008... All we need is a name!

The new region is slated to have classes held on a routine basis. Things such as:

Land Management 101
Groups 101 & 102
JIRA - What is it, how do you use it and why should you?
Terraforming 101
Estate Management

and eventually the usual suspects under building, scripting and so on.

I've set up a survey at WuFoo. This will give everyone a chance to voice their opinion and potentially suggest alternative names I may not have considered!

I'm leaning strongly to the region name needing to include both the SkyBeam name and reference to its purpose. If I don't, I'm likely to name it after a rose...

My 'pet' name for it all along has been SkyBeam U... but I'm not certain this is 'elegant' or will make sense to folks outside the US the way it does on my native soil and I need to be as cosmopolitan as possible.

Thanks in advance for all your wonderful input! Locate the survey here:

Flags R Us!

We have 17 entries by four residents for the SkyBeam Estates flag contest! (unless I missed someone's.... please tell me asap if I lost anything in my messy inventory!!!)

The entries are out on SkyBeam Estates region ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/SkyBeam%20Estates/60/174/25 ) and the ballot box is open!

There are two voting machines to one side of the flag display. One handles flags 1-9 and the other 10-17. Please vote for only one flag. Each machine will accept a vote from any given individual, but I rely upon your honor to only vote for one flag.

Please use overall design elements as your primary focus for selecting a design. If you have a strong preference for a color scheme, please submit a notecard directly to Char...

I hope everyone enjoys this display of creativity by our group!

Voting will be open through Sunday evening and next Monday (June 9) I will award the winners!

Enjoy!

You are AWESOME!!!

There I was, languishing in jail for the Relay for Life fund raiser, on trumped up charges of running moonshine and smuggling furries, and despite Second Life's (tm) issues du jour, despite extraordinary lag, I was out on bail in under one hour!!!

Together we raised over 100,000 Lindens for the American Cancer Society! That's around $375 USD!!! I'm prouder than I can possibly convey!

So you have further concept of the magnitude of the event yesterday, the entire event drew in over two million linden! That's a lot of zeroes!

Thank you everyone who participated or who tried to participate or wanted to but wasn't online. It was a lot of fun and all for a great cause!!!

Until there is a cure... we relay!
