This is the full transcript (edited to remove hellos, goodbyes and so on). Summary info to follow in the next posting:
Charlene Trudeau: ok, we'll start with birthdays. I'm officially setting SkyBeam Estate's birthday as November 15, the date I *ordered* the first region. Its stretching things a little to place the date as prior to delivery or first resident, but easier to remember than trying to figure out when delivery was :) We'll be two years old this year
Siobhan Connell: Wow . . .
Neill McCullough: Wo was the first resident?
[Omitted answer: Leosanni Somme & her partner Cavallo Udal]
Charlene Trudeau: to celebrate, I'm going to be giving away land for two weeks from Nov 1-15, first four tier payments required. I don't want anyone startled by this :)
Siobhan Connell blinks
Charlene Trudeau: but I figure I can give some gifts :) Open Space regions excluded. We have a lot of open property on both tradewinds and pastures, feel free to let anyone know and if you send them now, they can get their gift early :)
Charlene Trudeau: We'll be celebrating our birthday and LabGraal's grand opening on the 15h, right, Nev? With a live concert by LabGraal
Nevar Lobo: yes labgraal will be opening their land on the 15th also with a live concert at 1pm slt
Charlene Trudeau: the main focus will be LabGraal's grand opening, but we'll be doing a dual region stage with the estate region. They are my most favored live act in SL so I'm really looking forward to this
Charlene Trudeau: If anyone has any ideas on other ways to celebrate the estate birthday, please let me know
Siobhan Connell: Parties every day?
MikeDa1 Bolissima: Yes, but maybe not enough time to set it up
Charlene Trudeau: sounds great :)
MikeDa1 Bolissima: why not a bazaar and sailing tour?
Neill McCullough: Hard to top Labgraal
Grey Blackadder: we could muster a regatta
Katie Broome: I have a hot air balloon, I can offer to do free tour rides
Jadyn Questi: Cool, Katie!
Charlene Trudeau: to complicate things further, we are also participating in celebrating SL-Newspaper's 2nd birthday celebration which runs a full week from the 16th through the 22nd
MikeDa1 Bolissima: let the paper cover it
Katie Broome: but, I warn you, I'm not a very good driver
Charlene Trudeau: roflmao that may make it more fun?
Nevar Lobo laughs , " Ame has a good Tarn will take anyone on a Tarn ride "
Grey Blackadder: mystery tours then....
Amethyst Starostin grins
Neill McCullough: Free boats at Harbour Cove, if we want to do something on the water.
MikeDa1 Bolissima: treasure hunt at the shops from the regatta
Charlene Trudeau: I have a steampunk parachute jump setup that will seat eight at a time too. I want to set that up permanently somewhere eventually
Katie Broome: just tell me when to be there
Nevar Lobo: If everyone would submitt your ideas on a notecard to AMe we can get things scheduled
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I have a bumper car kit
Nuala MacMoragh loves parachute jumps
Dahlea Milena: Rodeo
Siobhan Connell: I'd suggest trying to have something on every sim if possible
Charlene Trudeau: that's an awesome idean, Siobhan
Siobhan Connell: I have a merry-go-round
Amethyst Starostin: It is really cool to see this much excitement and input...*smiles happily*
Nuala MacMoragh: How about a jousting tournament on Scepter'd isle?
Charlene Trudeau: or on Star or Forest where Em has jousting set up already?
Jadyn Questi: Eoe - ZYou guys are all so cool@@@
Phoenix Ember: The Nest can host any number of events, perhaps a swim meet or carnival
Jadyn Questi: Wow even
Nuala MacMoragh: Oh, right
Dahlea Milena: I know someone who can help me set up an exhibition Rodeo Char
Charlene Trudeau: sweet, Phoenix :)
Nuala MacMoragh: that's's what I meant
Charlene Trudeau: great, Dahlea
Nevar Lobo: we can do rodeo on Pastures Dahlea
Dahlea Milena: that'd be great
Charlene Trudeau: we can use space on Pastures. The jump course can always come up if we've given away the ranch there, so to speak :)
Siobhan Connell: And perhaps have a ball on the 15th?
Amethyst Starostin: If you all can take these ideas and drop them on me in notecards...that would be awesome [and anyone reading this transcript can toss in ideas too!!!]
Charlene Trudeau: later in the day? that'd be great :)
Charlene Trudeau: I'll get you the log too, Ame
Charlene Trudeau: I do not mind if there are overlapping events either, since not all events will be for everyone's taste
Siobhan Connell: A scavenger hunt?
Charlene Trudeau: that'd be really cool
Phoenix Ember: good idea!
Charlene Trudeau: residents could volunteer to host clues/prizes
Amethyst Starostin nods
Jody Palmer: what about money prices
MikeDa1 Bolissima: who is doing the ferry boat?
[missed answer: Emileigh Starbrook… someday??? Lol ]
Siobhan Connell: Creators could donate items to be hidden all over so we all get to visit everyone
Katie Broome: I guess Som and I could donate a nice jewelry prize
Jody Palmer: i have made a GoldRush sort of thing
Dahlea Milena: Fishing Tournament?
Charlene Trudeau: I'll be happy to make one of the prizes.... along with donate some cash to the first 3-5 that get to the end?
Jody Palmer: you hide goldbars
Jody Palmer: when someone finds them, they click them and recieve a amount of L$ you choose
Siobhan Connell: There's a hunt script system available that makes it easy
Nevar Lobo: Tam would be all over a fishing tourney
MikeDa1 Bolissima: rainbows (aka skybeams)
Phoenix Ember: Of course the Nest already has 7Seas Fishing ;)
Charlene Trudeau: I'd like the general prizes to be something anyone who participates can get :)
Nevar Lobo: nods, so does tradwaters
Dahlea Milena: if one is desired, and nobody else has a host, I know a Fishing Tourney Host I can bring in :)
Charlene Trudeau: we have 7seas fishing in a few places throughout thee estate :)
Neill McCullough: The hunt's an ideal event - given the range of timezones we occupy.
Charlene Trudeau: yes, it is, Neill
Charlene Trudeau: with other events to be scheduled throughout time zones, it would be great
Grey Blackadder: with that in mind, can we establish one venue that is constant?
Neill McCullough: We've lots of good hiding places in Harbour Cove.
Charlene Trudeau: Tam might be able to host a fishing tourney, I don't know
Siobhan Connell: Let's not make it tooooo hard though - I'm terrible at hunts. It took me a week to do the one for Avilion . .
Siobhan Connell chuckles
Charlene Trudeau: well, we could set it up a week or two early
Katie Broome: me, too, if I have to hunt for it, I don't want it
Nevar Lobo: AMe is doing one right now that is all over the grid ... 100 haloween ghost
Charlene Trudeau: well, a week at most, we need time to prep
Charlene Trudeau: this building will be on the ground in the next week if it kills me
MikeDa1 Bolissima: Katie? so you DON'T like shopping?
Katie Broome: no, not really
MikeDa1 Bolissima: LOL
Siobhan Connell: I think it should be more of a reason to get people to visit the other sims/shops/etc than for prizes/money
Charlene Trudeau: lots of clues
Siobhan Connell: although, those are nice . . . . hehe
Katie Broome: I quit shopping months ago, decided I had more clothes in SL than I did in RL
Dahlea Milena: oh my Katie, Mike's always teasing me about my shopping :), he never knows what I'm going to bring home next :)
Charlene Trudeau: lol, Katie
Siobhan Connell gasps
MikeDa1 Bolissima: can the ferry that's being built be programmed to tour the area?
[missed answer: yes, in part that’s part of its programming during its route from any point a to point b. a special tour could be programmed for the celebration that goes all around whatever we decide to include… theoretically… if we get it installed fast enough….]
Neill McCullough: Prizes rather than money perhaps?
Charlene Trudeau: I ahve so many clothes....
Charlene Trudeau: and so hard to find anything
Nevar Lobo: had to get Amethyst a sim just for her closet in SL
Siobhan Connell: Theres NEVER enough clothes
Charlene Trudeau: that when I want to change I go buy something new...
Dahlea Milena: agrees wtih Sio
Katie Broome: pffft, I think there is...I had to put stuff in storage boxes
Phoenix Ember: love having shops at the Nest, it's like an extend clothes closet
Dahlea Milena: lol, Men too, Mike's just as likely to haul me off shopping too, difference is the type of shops, lol
Charlene Trudeau: I give my discards that are transfer to Siobhan/Fionne to box up and sell in her resale shop :)
MikeDa1 Bolissima: different Mike
Charlene Trudeau: easier than boxing it all up myself
Nuala MacMoragh: oh, good idea!
Siobhan Connell: Yes, she has . . . boggle
Dahlea Milena: yes, Mike T. lol
Nevar Lobo: speaking of that how about a huge yardsale birthday weekend ?
Neill McCullough: :-)
Charlene Trudeau: Siobhan if you knew how much I have to throw out that's no trans...
MikeDa1 Bolissima: for a theme... why not skybeam storage boxes?
Phoenix Ember: I know Lady would love the yardsale
Charlene Trudeau: I'm very picky
MikeDa1 Bolissima: for the hunt items at least
Siobhan Connell: Is there a charity we could tie the birthday celebration into somehow?
Jody Palmer: IS the GOLDRUCH goldbar search something you could use Charlene ?
Katie Broome: I have more junk I could sell in a yard sale Nevar
Nevar Lobo: we can use Tradwinds if we hvent sold it all
Charlene Trudeau: Great. We'll be able to use the SkyBeam Architecture parcel on SkyBeam
MikeDa1 Bolissima: each make one to contribute to the search
Charlene Trudeau: I will be selling that parcel eventually and moving Architecture to the remaining open area on Back 40 Too
Charlene Trudeau: possibly, Jody
MikeDa1 Bolissima: MUST include a stop to the Back 40 memorial
Charlene Trudeau: it depends on what kind of donations we get that can be given out to everyone that plays that we get
Charlene Trudeau: I will cover the cooks summary before we're done
[NOTE: totally forgot so it will be a blog post….]
Neill McCullough: Any thoughts for a charity?
[Missed answer in terms of who…. We do Relay for Life as an estate and it runs for months each spring/summer. I’m happy to open it up to either the residents who work on the autism charity events or the down syndrome one, but would prefer that any charity run event be officially hosted/run by residents with my endorsement as I’ll be doing official relay for life events come spring]
Charlene Trudeau: ok, I need to digress for a moment an cover the activities that will also be going on the following week, the 16-22 in conjunction with the sl-newspaper 2nd anniversary celebration
Siobhan Connell: perhaps a yardsale for charity?
Neill McCullough: Perfect
Katie Broome: <---likes St. Jude's Research Center
Charlene Trudeau: Nev, Ame, please feel free to go to Chablis memorial
Nevar Lobo: thanks Char
Nevar Lobo: exucse us please
Charlene Trudeau: I'll get you the transcript and info
Amethyst Starostin: Thank you Char
Charlene Trudeau: The estate is a sponsor of SL-Newspaper: as such we'll have a booth at the week long event they have scheduled. We will also hold our friday night dance night there from 5-7 that Friday. We can make that as elaborate as we can all plot out, to show everyone who shows how awesome we all are :)
Neill McCullough: :-)
Charlene Trudeau: we're also running a photography contest. The pictures will be due on 11/14 and displayed at the celebration
Charlene Trudeau: sl photos
Jody Palmer: k
Charlene Trudeau: they must be taken on skybeam estates regions
Jadyn Questi: photos of What?
Charlene Trudeau: Nev, Ame and I will be handling the whole contest
Charlene Trudeau: I just want everyone to be aware there will be people roaming the regions taking photos
Jadyn Questi: Photos of what Char?
Charlene Trudeau: of the estate
Jadyn Questi: Ah Okie
Charlene Trudeau: whatever strikes their fancy for a good composition to submit
Charlene Trudeau: let me get you all the notecard
[Blog readers can request a copy from me, Nev or Ame or wait for the official poster to show up on SkyBeam regions in the next couple of days]
Charlene Trudeau: again, there's nothing we need to do as a group about that except be aware photographers will be around :)
Charlene Trudeau: for the sl-newspaper, any cool ideas of how to theme or enhance the friday night dance night would be appreciated, now or via notecard to me or Ame
Charlene Trudeau: we'll consolidate the ideas for the birthday celebration and put them on the blog and start working on details from there
Jadyn Questi: I loved that arabian nights theme we did, but I've been wondering when someone would be doing and Egyptian theme
Charlene Trudeau: oh, nice idea
Phoenix Ember pokes Anubus
MikeDa1 Bolissima: there is a great shop for that (I think) over on tradewinds near the other lighthouse
Siobhan Connell: I wonder how plasible it would be to do something themed like a fox hunt (without the fox).
Charlene Trudeau: Next on my agenda is snow and the winter holidays through to new years
Phoenix Ember: lol hunt Erix?
Charlene Trudeau: hehe
Charlene Trudeau: yeah, we need to hunt wabbits or something :)
MikeDa1 Bolissima: well in USA they don't kill the fox
Siobhan Connell: Well you know, the outfits, the horse . .
MikeDa1 Bolissima: just chase it
Charlene Trudeau nods
Phoenix Ember: like a 'Find Waldo'
Neill McCullough: Nor in Britain now
MikeDa1 Bolissima: YAY for UK!
Charlene Trudeau: who knows, erix might want to play the part more challenging with a live avatar being hunted?
Charlene Trudeau: hehehe
Jadyn Questi: lol
Siobhan Connell: true enough - hehe
MikeDa1 Bolissima: Must be some furries around
Charlene Trudeau: we do have some :)
Charlene Trudeau: we have a little of everything :)
Neill McCullough: Full time and part time ;-)
Siobhan Connell: Since I moved the shop, I never even see Erix anymore
Charlene Trudeau: awww
Charlene Trudeau: yeah, he hangs out mostly on skybeam or fox when he's online
Charlene Trudeau: he's had some server and isp issues tho
MikeDa1 Bolissima: could be prize to first tally ho
Charlene Trudeau: so he's been offline a lot
Siobhan Connell: Or something Camelotish?
Charlene Trudeau: nice
Jadyn Questi: OO Camelot would be cool
MikeDa1 Bolissima: fox have preset teleporters with private settings?
MikeDa1 Bolissima: but limited to a sim?
Charlene Trudeau: could work
MikeDa1 Bolissima: have to run between them
Charlene Trudeau: ok, snow will fall November 28 across SkyBeam
MikeDa1 Bolissima: limit how many spots
Siobhan Connell: YAY
Charlene Trudeau: except maybe Alessandra's regions
Charlene Trudeau: It will stay at least until January 2
Charlene Trudeau: I have to admit that I get antsy to get my green back
Charlene Trudeau: so I apologize if I steal it away too fast for your taste :)
Phoenix Ember: The Nest will also have snow, with the Crater an ice rink
************************************************************************************
Charlene Trudeau: during the decorating season anything that has 'lights' on it can be full bright
[NOTE: Xmas trees, outside wreaths, light trims on the house, etc. Please no glowing icicles or full bright prim snow drifts etc]
************************************************************************************
Siobhan Connell: Nah, about that time I ready for green too
Nuala MacMoragh: I live in CA in RL, not sure how I'm gonna like snow in SL!
Jadyn Questi: Cool Phoenix
Neill McCullough: My first ever visit here wasin the snow season :-)
Charlene Trudeau: lol, Nuala, I'm in Phoenix
Charlene Trudeau: its the only way I can have a white xmas ;P
Charlene Trudeau: or snowmen
Charlene Trudeau: or snowball fights
Phoenix Ember: it's cool Nuala, you don't feel the chill
Siobhan Connell: Here too - GA hasn't had snow in years
Charlene Trudeau: I have an extensive ice sculpture collection
Phoenix Ember: cool
Nuala MacMoragh: lol. well I got some fur coats so I am prepared
Charlene Trudeau: I will try to put them out throughout the estate as prims permit
MikeDa1 Bolissima: Tried saving a snowball one year for summer
MikeDa1 Bolissima: mom threw it out
Phoenix Ember: lol
Charlene Trudeau: if I'm thin in a region, I will ask for volunteers to host one
Neill McCullough: It might get cold enough for the Harbour to freeze over ;-)
Phoenix Ember: Nest is in ;)
Charlene Trudeau: I collected them when I had the mainland region Pando with a mall on it
MikeDa1 Bolissima: need an icebreaker tug then
Charlene Trudeau: awesome, Phoenix :)
MikeDa1 Bolissima: for the ferry
Siobhan Connell: Oh, THOSE sculptures!!
Nuala MacMoragh: I would be happy to host one as I have few landscaping things and plnty of prim
Charlene Trudeau: we are going to have an estate wide decorating contest
Dahlea Milena: remembers T'giving 2 years ago in west central US, 2' of snow fell in under 10 hours, couldn't open the front or back doors, had to go out thru the garage to shovel the doors free
Siobhan Connell: Feel free to put one at me place
Nuala MacMoragh: unless they are outta control huge.
Neill McCullough: Me 2
Charlene Trudeau: they range from a couple dozen prims up to 100 max
Charlene Trudeau: I'm sure I can find something in your budget
Siobhan Connell: hehe
Nuala MacMoragh: nice!
Phoenix Ember: not bad at all
Siobhan Connell: If y'all haven't seen them, they are fabulous
Neill McCullough: If the harbour is frozen up, I could manage a bigger one.
[Note: if you specifically want one of the scuptures placed during the snow season, please contact me so I have a good list-- Char]
Charlene Trudeau: the decorating contest does not have to be traditional xmas, the entry card will list a 'theme' field to be judged on that
Charlene Trudeau: so you can decorate for any religious holiday or do a winter fantasy theme or whatever
Charlene Trudeau: if an Open Space owner decorates only, say, their home area, they can compete directly with the estate, if they go all out and do the whole region, we'll do the OS regions separately
Charlene Trudeau: details, rules and prizes to come later
Charlene Trudeau: anyone have any additional thoughts for this?
Draegan Ashbourne: i think it sounds lovely
Charlene Trudeau: We're holding New years from 2pm all the way to 1am
Nuala MacMoragh: oh nice
Charlene Trudeau: on December 31/jan 1
Charlene Trudeau: Dakota will be dj'ing the entire night!!!
Charlene Trudeau: this will be a formal masquerade ball
Siobhan Connell: Oh goody!
Phoenix Ember: Fun!
Charlene Trudeau: and we'll have fireworks every hour that celebrates a new years during that time
Charlene Trudeau: for 15 minutes
Jadyn Questi: Way cool!!!
MikeDa1 Bolissima: cool
Charlene Trudeau: anyone that wants to be the estate fireworks specialist, I'll fund your choice of unlimited fireworks systems
[No direct takers for this so still looking for a volunteer to receive a no transfer, unlimited fireworks setup with plenty of time to learn it, design a 15 minute display to wow the world and learn how to schedule it to run for 15 minutes on the hour from 2pm to 1am….sl time… copyable system too, so that we can have multiple regions if not all of them displaying the fireworks…]
Neill McCullough: So we can drop in before and after the bells :-)
Phoenix Ember: I have a fireworks system
Charlene Trudeau: many can be pre-programmed to run at the hour mark
Siobhan Connell: no one wants me handling explosives . . .
Charlene Trudeau: but I know that programming your own show is best rther than using the random settings
MikeDa1 Bolissima: can we issue notecards to those entering the estates on how to set their viewers to longer distances to see them?
Charlene Trudeau: lol, Siobhan
Charlene Trudeau: surely, MIke
Siobhan Connell: Char - you *know* how I break things! LOL
Charlene Trudeau: having the fireworks go off in multiple regions would be awesome, too
MikeDa1 Bolissima: have midnight ferry tours too
Charlene Trudeau: oh, that'd be cool
Siobhan Connell: Or balloon rides
Neill McCullough: You'd be welcome to use the hills behind me.
Charlene Trudeau: I'll have to beg that the ferry is ready
MikeDa1 Bolissima: to each area just before they go off
MikeDa1 Bolissima: yes
Charlene Trudeau: champagne balloon rides!
MikeDa1 Bolissima: that would be great shot too
MikeDa1 Bolissima: balloons with fireworks going off near them
MikeDa1 Bolissima: lol
MikeDa1 Bolissima: just hope the wind doesn't shift
Charlene Trudeau: :)
Charlene Trudeau: I think I'm going to try to sneak in an ice sculpture design contest during the snow season too
Charlene Trudeau: I loved running those on Pando
Neill McCullough: I have a copy balloon that can be set to group use - easy to fly - if we need a quantity.
Charlene Trudeau: cool
Jadyn Questi: That could be fun!
Siobhan Connell: Do we want to go ahead and set a deadline to get items in for a scavenger hunt?
Siobhan Connell: for the birthday party thingie
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I have a book that gives an example of scripts for a balloon ride, too
MikeDa1 Bolissima: tells how to set them
Charlene Trudeau: that would be a good idea, Siobhan
Charlene Trudeau: what do you think is reasonable for having them and still have time to set the hunt?
Charlene Trudeau: we can, of course, start rounding up locations and clues without the prizes yet
Neill McCullough: A week?
Charlene Trudeau: so set it for the 2nd of November?
Charlene Trudeau: that gives us a week maybe to set up and then a week for the hunt to be in place?
Neill McCullough: Sounds good
Draegan Ashbourne: where should we donate the prizes?
Charlene Trudeau: I'm assuming we're looking for something that can be given out to all participants (give copy) and as 'no transfer' so they can't get several and hand them around
MikeDa1 Bolissima: do we need multiple copies of the prize? or just one?
Phoenix Ember nods
Charlene Trudeau: Probably directly to me, preferably with a singular naming convention
Charlene Trudeau: you'll have to likely trust me with permissions you normally wouldn't
MikeDa1 Bolissima: can it include a notecard of the developer donating the prize and their location in skybeams?
Charlene Trudeau: absolutely!
Charlene Trudeau: FREE ADVERTISING!!!!
Siobhan Connell: hehe
MikeDa1 Bolissima: what I was thinking
Charlene Trudeau: that's one of the great things about something like this :)
MikeDa1 Bolissima: and an intro to new ones in the area
Charlene Trudeau: its why we're hosting the photo contest, for example
Neill McCullough: Are there any contests as part of this needing one-off prizes?
Charlene Trudeau: not only gets name out there, gets people visiting and exposed to the estate
Charlene Trudeau: yes, the decorating contest, the ice sculpture contest
Charlene Trudeau: probably some best dressed or so on prizes for the event at the sl-newspaper on that friday
MikeDa1 Bolissima: and limited if we did the fox hunt for the "first" type prizes
Charlene Trudeau: the 21st, I believe it is
Charlene Trudeau: right
Charlene Trudeau: that too
Neill McCullough: Okies. I'm having a limited edition item done for Scepterd Haven, which might make a good prize for the ladies.
MikeDa1 Bolissima: maybe a gift box with a very special prize and copies of the free to all prizes?
MikeDa1 Bolissima: and all notecards
Siobhan Connell: I'd recommend that prizes for the hunt be a unisex as possible, though
Charlene Trudeau: and we'll also consider the goldrush game, too
Jody Palmer: i'll send you the goldrush later today, Charlene
Neill McCullough: This could be for the best-dressed lady at the dance.
Neill McCullough: Assuming I get them from the designer in time.
Charlene Trudeau: I think we've pretty much covered most of what we needed
Siobhan Connell: Then we've pretty much covered everything?
Charlene Trudeau: that's the schedule as I have it
Neill McCullough: I hope w'll have these meetings regularly.
Charlene Trudeau: I'd like to encourage everyone to throw all the parties or other things as you like, also
Charlene Trudeau: yes, I believe we'll have to to keep this moving smoothly
Siobhan Connell: Yes, the holiday season does make things busier, huh?
Charlene Trudeau: yes :)
Charlene Trudeau: lots of events across the estate is a really good thing, any time of year, tho
Charlene Trudeau: its good for bringing us together as a community
Charlene Trudeau: and to expose people outside the community to who we are
Charlene Trudeau: oh, community
Charlene Trudeau: as soon as I get this on the ground and the tier board in the old estate office moved over
Charlene Trudeau: that parcel is going to be set up as a sort of rec center
Charlene Trudeau: I'd like to see things like free slonopoly, darts, and so on
Charlene Trudeau: maybe have a small pool
Neill McCullough: :-)
Jadyn Questi: We have a Mah Jong game
Charlene Trudeau: and create a hang out spot for anyone that needs a spot
Siobhan Connell: cool
Phoenix Ember: cool
MikeDa1 Bolissima: Charlene? is it possible to have a special role for guests?
Charlene Trudeau: great, Jadyn
Rafferty Cortes: copy and transfer Mahjong table
Charlene Trudeau: let me answer that in a minute, Mike
MikeDa1 Bolissima: they might "forget" to remove it when going elsewhere and it would might let others know about us off sim?
MikeDa1 Bolissima: sure
Charlene Trudeau: with the SkyBeam Community group, they'll be able to set home at the rec center
Charlene Trudeau: I'm hoping this will help more people join the community group, and become part of the community and eventually become residents
Charlene Trudeau: starting with newer people
MikeDa1 Bolissima: nod
Siobhan Connell: Then be sure I get the LM and a logo so I can set it up at my shoppe
Charlene Trudeau: so any ideas for the rec center are appreciated, just know we're limited at this time to a standard prim 4096
Charlene Trudeau: I will :)
Neill McCullough: I'm doing something similar on Scepterd Isle. Scepterd Haven is a home for women new to SL.
MikeDa1 Bolissima: would there be a way to host a board with that on help island or the NCI islands?
Charlene Trudeau: though I may nab the skybeam architecture lot for it
Charlene Trudeau: I have 12 advertising slots on NCI
MikeDa1 Bolissima: cool
Charlene Trudeau: I can use some of them for that
Charlene Trudeau: its rotational but gets seen a lot
Phoenix Ember: They do
Neill McCullough: NCI?
Charlene Trudeau: also whenever I manage to get university going, Carl has offered to put a board up for that on his regions
[Phoenix Ember: always makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I see the SB ads
MikeDa1 Bolissima: how many prims to post a board near the lighthouse for people to join NCI and tell them about the rec center here?
Charlene Trudeau: New Citizen's Inc
MikeDa1 Bolissima: they are a great support group
Siobhan Connell: Wow, I haven't been to NCI in . . . . an age
MikeDa1 Bolissima: lots of good classes too
Charlene Trudeau: they have a number of sandboxes and freebie areas dedicated to helping intro new residents
Charlene Trudeau: right
MikeDa1 Bolissima: great group to belong to
Neill McCullough: I must ask Mel to check that out.
MikeDa1 Bolissima: want an invite?
Neill McCullough: OK, please
Siobhan Connell: Fionne should be the one in the group, so I'll hold off
Charlene Trudeau: ok, as for Mike's question
Charlene Trudeau: partners and room mates are always welcome to have the estate group and the landowner role
Charlene Trudeau: other guests should be invited to join SkyBeam Community
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I'll do that
Charlene Trudeau: the reasons for any limitations to the main group is because of the group land
MikeDa1 Bolissima: nod
Charlene Trudeau: on group land, land owner role can freeze/eject anyone
Charlene Trudeau: and can return non-group items
Charlene Trudeau: and... I don't make a lot of noise about this, but its self evident
Charlene Trudeau: can set out prims that will not auto return on the group land
Charlene Trudeau: notably this is in place because of the sandbox
Charlene Trudeau: so that you can use the reserved areas upstairs without auto return (tho, of course, I ask you to clean up between build sessions to avoid prim shortages)
Charlene Trudeau: that is the secondary reason to have two groups going
Charlene Trudeau: the primary was to start the non-residents being a part of the community with impunity :)
Neill McCullough: I strongly encourage my guests at Scepterd Haven to join SkyBeam Community.
Charlene Trudeau: yes, and I swear I'll get that click to join board to you
Charlene Trudeau: really
Charlene Trudeau: lol
Neill McCullough: :-)
Neill McCullough: I'll put one at the Harbour, too.
Neill McCullough: Partly renamed today - Jessica's Beach Club
Siobhan Connell: Oh, could you get one to me?
Charlene Trudeau: and I'll have one on the sandbox and the rec club
Siobhan Connell: Er, Fionne?
Charlene Trudeau: happy to
Charlene Trudeau: I think the script is no trans
Charlene Trudeau: so likely I'll need temp group permissions anywhere I don't already have and direction where to hang it
Charlene Trudeau: and then share it with group so you can move it
MikeDa1 Bolissima: can you give me a tp for the Scepter Isle so I can put it at the lighthouse for women visiting to know about it?
Charlene Trudeau: scepterd haven
Neill McCullough: Sure
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I mean a touch board or let me know how to set it up?
MikeDa1 Bolissima: my teleporters only let me do the sim right now
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I'll try to add it to the lighthouse for a touch response
Charlene Trudeau: oh, in Nev's absence, would someone remind me in a week or so that I have a tp system to check out that should let me set up a network throughout the estate?
Phoenix Ember: sweet
Neill McCullough: I'll need to scratch my head about that, MIke.
MikeDa1 Bolissima: what do you mean?
Phoenix Ember: would that work for the red-headed step-child as well?
[omitted answer: yes, absolutely]
Neill McCullough: How to turn the LM I gave you into a touch board
MikeDa1 Bolissima: oh
Dahlea Milena: oh I just got one of those for one of our business ventures Char, I've got to do the same thing
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I think i can do that with a script and a notecard
MikeDa1 Bolissima: No I have a better idea
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I'm setting up a dock
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I'll put it in a lifering on the pier
Neill McCullough: Great
[NOTE: if you need help setting up the LM giver, let me know, I can get you set up]
Charlene Trudeau: oh, yeah, gotta get Em in touch with you about the dimensions :)
MikeDa1 Bolissima: Em?
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I was going to ask who to contact
Neill McCullough: Emileigh Starbrook, Mike
Charlene Trudeau: I'm hopeful that lots of us will host holiday parties throughout too
MikeDa1 Bolissima: I'll send her a friend invite
Charlene Trudeau: I let her know you'd be contacting her so she has a clue why :)
Neill McCullough: We're gettin g very natutical here these days :)
{Tamsin arrives}
Charlene Trudeau: a 7 seas fishing tourney was suggested at one point
Tamsin Ireton: OH I have a few, but what I want to know is whens the SNOW, LOL, good idea
Phoenix Ember: LOL
Charlene Trudeau: would that be something you'd want to host? or would you prefer an outside host be brought in so you can participate
Charlene Trudeau: the 28th :)
Charlene Trudeau: unless we want to snow earlier?
Charlene Trudeau: of november, that is
Tamsin Ireton: I would be glad to host, I can get a couple of friends in to make sure I do not mess up
Jadyn Questi: I think the 28th is good
Phoenix Ember: RL family home has snow already
Jadyn Questi: Living in the snow belt we see quite enough of it in RL
Charlene Trudeau: its in covenant as day after american thanksgiving through january 2
Neill McCullough: Tam, can contests span more than one region?
Tamsin Ireton: not with 7seas, the fishers have to be within 100m of the scoreboard and I think all in one region. But on the region thing I will check
Neill McCullough: Okies
Tamsin Ireton: however on either mine or Neills land their is a lot of room for many fishers, hopefully who will leave their hair at home
Neill McCullough: LOL
Tamsin Ireton: it is the lag problem
Dahlea Milena: lol
Phoenix Ember chuckles
Neill McCullough: I'd be happy to have it on mine, if someone else knows what they are doing.
Tamsin Ireton: have you updated your servers and scoreboard?
Charlene Trudeau: that would be good
Tamsin Ireton: if so that is fine or could be both or more
Charlene Trudeau: On tam's its a full prim region with full scripting power
Charlene Trudeau: if there is enough room
Neill McCullough: Servers, yes - don't have a scoreboard rezzed.
Phoenix Ember: excellent
Tamsin Ireton: just have to be the 3.0 scoreboard
Charlene Trudeau: that's not to say that I don't think Harbour Cove isn't the best *setting*
Charlene Trudeau: I just don't know what kind of lag one encounters and how much scripting power etc
Tamsin Ireton: yes it is a beach mine is a hobo/medieval farm with an inlet and island
Charlene Trudeau: can we do a mini test with residents only before scheduling the main event?
Neill McCullough: Good idea
Tamsin Ireton: any time I am not working and I assume Neill is likewise
Charlene Trudeau: on Harbour Cove in the next couple of weekends?
Charlene Trudeau: to see if it holds up well?
Siobhan Connell: I'm not sure hw much lag it produces - we have at least one in Avilion
Tamsin Ireton: it is the avatar cost that makes the scoreboard very slow and the fishing rather nasty
Charlene Trudeau: or an afternoon/evening
Neill McCullough: If Tam can help, yes :-)
Tamsin Ireton: no problem
Charlene Trudeau: ok, so we set rules on what people can wear
Siobhan Connell: And if it can work with dragons around, it should be okay here
Charlene Trudeau: and that anyone with an avatar rendering score above 1000 will be asked to strip down
Charlene Trudeau:
Charlene Trudeau: lol
Phoenix Ember: lol
Siobhan Connell: I have a lagless female hair and skin set - I should work on a male version
Tamsin Ireton: at some fishing contests like at Hedonism 1/2 of the entries stripped at the hosst invitation to naked for bait, however I do not think that will fly here
Charlene Trudeau: lol
Charlene Trudeau: request swmisuits?
Charlene Trudeau:
Tamsin Ireton: jeans and tops with reasonable hair
Siobhan Connell: lol - Tradewaters is mature, but I don't know if I'd want nekkeds running around!
Neill McCullough: Good grief, I'm 854. Must be the beard
Tamsin Ireton: LOL I have told people that they have to be aat least semi clothed to fish at my place
Tamsin Ireton: I do not mind but Char does
Charlene Trudeau: for the right event I wouldn't mind
Charlene Trudeau: for instance one of our sister regions hosted the boobie ball recently
Charlene Trudeau: in support of breast cancer
Charlene Trudeau: topless event
Neill McCullough: I read about that - was it on Winterfell?
Charlene Trudeau: yes
Charlene Trudeau: Serra is one of our estate manglers here
Charlene Trudeau: and I for her
Charlene Trudeau: ok, so neill & tam if you can get your heads together on a test contest date, I'll get the word out to the estate
Neill McCullough: Okies
Charlene Trudeau: invite all fisher buddies as desired as we do a stress test of harbour cove
Tamsin Ireton: not a problem I will be here after 6 EDT today and all day tomorrow
Charlene Trudeau: If you need funding for the board, Tam, I'm happy to buy it for you
Neill McCullough: I'm on leave for a couple of weeks, so easy fro me too.
Charlene Trudeau: great
Tamsin Ireton: Oh I have all the equipment and we could use it on Neills land if necessary including prize pot distsributors and such
Neill McCullough: WE should have all the bits and pieces - just prize money needed?
Tamsin Ireton: I can provide a bit of that, and often fishers tip to build the pot
Neill McCullough: I'll go 50-50 on that
Tamsin Ireton: 50/50 plus donations is good
Tamsin Ireton: they tip the fishing pot not us
Charlene Trudeau: I'm happy to donate to that too
Siobhan Connell: Which reminds me, thanks to both of you for often donating to the money tree.
Charlene Trudeau: :)
Tamsin Ireton: LOL, tis the neighborly thing to do
Neill McCullough: YVW, Siobhan
Charlene Trudeau: I should do that now that the one at pando is gone
Siobhan Connell: There are several from the estate who do.
Tamsin Ireton: I remember when I had no credit dancing was a pain
Charlene Trudeau: yeah
Charlene Trudeau: oh, that's another thing
Charlene Trudeau: when I open the rec center I may hire a barkeep or something, live interactive bodies only
Charlene Trudeau: from newbs
Siobhan Connell: wonderful idea
Charlene Trudeau: so think about how I can monitor that
Siobhan Connell: Well there are systems out there that track "employees"
Charlene Trudeau: the 'must be live and interactive' with anyone around part
Neill McCullough: Secret shoppers - err - drinkers. Hic
Charlene Trudeau: maybe having the guardians check on them randomly too
Siobhan Connell: yep
Tamsin Ireton: a camping thing set only to the bartenders ? wonders?
Dahlea Milena: there's camping questions you could use to prompt a response every 1- minutes
Dahlea Milena: *10
Neill McCullough: I see where Char is coming from on this. They must interact with the "customers"
Siobhan Connell: I'm sure there must be systems out there. The clubs must use them
Charlene Trudeau: yes, I'd imagine
Neill McCullough: Short tempered managers;-)
Tamsin Ireton: many use semi responsive (pre-set) bots but that is rather tasteless
Charlene Trudeau: I'll start researching or sic Ame on it
Siobhan Connell: My friend Azia might know. She used to manage a club
Charlene Trudeau: I was more thinking of giving earning opportunities
Tamsin Ireton: I think you will find that you get quite a few willing
Charlene Trudeau: I know there are camping type devices you have to click every so often to keep them live, but
Tamsin Ireton: the quality may vary of course
Neill McCullough: Here's an idea - match their tips.
Charlene Trudeau: I would rather interview and so on first
Charlene Trudeau: that could be gamed
Neill McCullough: Up to an houtly limit pehaps
Charlene Trudeau: right
Siobhan Connell: You just want to be wary of alts looking for "easy" money
Neill McCullough: Ah
Tamsin Ireton: I know a number of excellent hosts/workers but they are not newbies
Charlene Trudeau: the hourly limit would limit it
Charlene Trudeau nods
Neill McCullough: Pin money, as it were
Charlene Trudeau: we can start with those and groom in some newbs so they get an income?
Charlene Trudeau: I figure if there's a host/hostess, if only one person comes to hang out they have someone to chat with
Tamsin Ireton: probably there are several that are totally worthy and very experienced but I have no ideas of their financial requirements could ask
Neill McCullough: I may have occasional opportunities along those lines too - we could have a pool arrangemnt?
Charlene Trudeau nods
Charlene Trudeau: works for me
Charlene Trudeau: happy to give the ladies of Haven first dibs
Neill McCullough: Thanks :-)
Kirk Sweetwater: did we accomplish anything?
Charlene Trudeau: we're going to be very busy for the next couple of months :)
Kirk Sweetwater: good to know
Charlene Trudeau: I'll be cleaning up the transcript and posting it, along with a more concise brief... if I can manage 'concise'
Charlene Trudeau: and 'brief'
Siobhan Connell: hehe
